Lawrence has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate structured finance. He has advised on over $3.5 billion in transactions across retail, commercial, residential, industrial, hospitality and specialised assets.
Prior to founding Modena Capital, Lawrence held a senior role with Ashe Morgan. Over ten years, he built a foundation of lender relationships and solid skill base in modelling, structuring deals and debt arrangement. During the GFC, he also helped clients navigate through the crisis.
Having enjoyed working with real estate entrepreneurs over many years, and gaining a deep understanding of their challenges and goals, Lawrence set out to provide for a growing need in the real estate financing market.
He launched Modena Capital to deliver sophisticated real estate investors and developers a highly personalised and innovative consultation, funding and partnership facilitation service.
Lawrence personally manages every client project, so he has successfully worked on a range of challenging transactions.
And while he brings all his vast knowledge and experience to every deal, he understands that each is unique, and approaches them that way.
Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Economics (UNSW), Masters of Applied Finance, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and has completed a number of Executive Programs at both Harvard Business School and Oxford University.

As an experienced financial services professional, Marcello has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate finance with a particular focus on debt and equity finance structuring and maximizing borrower returns. Involved in the review, negotiation and approval of financial and legal documents and vigorously managing the settlement of property transactions, Marcello has been involved in the assessment, approval and settlement of financial transactions across all commercial asset classes.
Prior to joining Modena Capital, Marcello held senior investment management and banking roles and brings valuable industry experience to the Modena team which includes core strengths in financial modelling, analytical assessment, capital structuring and asset management.
Marcello maintains a hands-on approach with clients and is adept at identifying opportunities for capital structuring and risk mitigation. With exceptional communication skills and commitment to outstanding results, he is able to adapt to the ever-evolving financial landscape to meet changing market conditions.
Marcello holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney, as well as a Diploma in Mortgage Lending from the Securities Institute of Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

With more than 30 years’ experience within some of Australia’s leading banks and financial institutions, David is a seasoned financial services expert focusing on corporate and property finance across all asset classes. With strong relationship management and client engagement skills and real expertise in market analysis and competitive benchmarking, David has collaborated on the settlement of over $2bn of finance settlements across retail, commercial, industrial, residential and specialist asset classes. His skill spans across both development and investment funding with effective communication and negotiation skills assisting with the execution and implementation of financial accommodation for clients.
David held senior banking roles within National Australia Bank’s property finance team and within Westpac Banking Corporation’s corporate and structured finance team prior to joining Modena Capital. These roles have given David valuable investment management and banking experience which he now brings to the Modena team as well as strengths in capital modelling, financial assessment and structuring and portfolio management.
David holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, Sydney, as well as various certifications in both finance and accounting.
